Earrings inspired by the native Takahe bird, hand beaded with glass beads

The process starts with an iPad. Jess meticulously designs these earrings before starting the assembly process. Colours and layout so intentional, it’s hard to miss the inspiration behind these gorgeous earrings. Beads are strung one-by-one, woven on cord and hung on hypoallergenic hooped hooks.

Once thought to be extinct, the Takahe have been recently released in the local bush, where there is now evidence of mating pairs. An exciting thing for the local community and New Zealand!
