Made from vintage New Zealand woolly blankets and colourful bits of recycled textiles. Sewn by hand and finished with hand embroidered details. These are truly one-of-a-kind works of art made by Anne Gilginas, a fabric forager who delights in salvaging & repurposing materials, sewing up a storm and giving them a new lease on life.

The subject of this piece is the iconic pīwakawaka (fantail), a New Zealand native bird that flint & flutters and easily recognized by its (you guessed it!) fan-shaped tail.
